-A personal note from steve and his dog tanner-

Hi and thanks for stopping by.

I’ve been taking pictures ever since I can remember and I’ve been lucky enough to do this for a living for about ten years now. In addition to hundreds of weddings, I’ve had a wide variety of assignments over the years, from celebrity portraits , fashion shoots, major national sporting events to stadium concerts.  You’ll often  hear there’s a distinction between wedding photographers and commercial photographers (click here to see my commercial work). People start their careers in weddings and then move on but I have been able to float in between. I have use my gained knowledge in one field and applied it towards the others. The reason I have done this is that there’s something unique about photographing weddings, it’s an opportunity to capture one of the most important days of someone’s life. There is no reshoot on a wedding day, either you have the eye for the moment and the skill to capture it or you don’t.

Because of my experience on a wedding day,  I work with my clients to help them feel comfortable in front of a camera so that the photographs will reflect those moments that will stand out years from now. I let my clients breath and capture the true moments of their wedding as they unfold with out my influence. Yes I will give little pointers along the way, ” you might want to put your dress on this is room the light is amazing”, or  “lets go off the beaten path and shoot some portraits in a not portrait designated spot ” things like that.

I do shoot my fair share of portraits on a wedding day but I understand that not everyone is comfortable in front of a camera in that situation. d I’m very sensitive to a clients needs on a wedding day shoot. I  work as quickly as possible and walk my clients though simple natural movements that don’t require a lot of set up time or awkwardness. I want my portraits to look as natural and genuine as possible, so tend I give my clients space and use longer lens to capture portraits.

If you’d like to see more of my work, or discuss wedding coverage options for yourself please feel free to call or email me at your convenience. I look forward to talking with you soon.
